CBD co2 Extraction and Cryoethanol Process

Employing the industry’s best methods for CBD oil extraction

Extraction is a pivotal turning point in the production process. It’s the moment where the raw hemp material is transformed into CBD oil – the essential component of the finished product, responsible for all the health and wellness benefits that makes CBD so well-loved. To guarantee high quality in the final CBD product, it’s crucial that extraction is done well.

That being said, extraction can be a tricky process, especially if you really want to do it right. Manufacturers who make inferior products – and there are many in the marketplace – will choose to employ cheap liquid solvents like butane to strip away at the hemp plant to access the essential cannabinoids. While this method is simpler and cheaper, it creates a high probability that the oil will contain far more impurities and harmful toxins.

Because we choose to use superior extraction methods, we end up with a purer, safer, more beneficial CBD product than anything else available on the market.

Supercritical CO2 extraction

Supercritical CO2 extraction is a highly complex means of extraction that yields optimal purity and potency. In this method, CO2 and hemp are both pumped through three different chambers. After moving through the first chamber, the CO2 enters a liquid state, becoming supercritical, at which point it’s able to move freely through the hemp, extracting cannabinoid compounds as it does so. Then, this mixture of CO2 and CBD is sent through a third chamber, which is kept at a low pressure and high temperature to allow the CO2 to rise to the top of the chamber. Just as the supercritical CO2 rises, the cannabinoids fall to the bottom of the chamber, where it is then collected as pure CBD oil.

Unlike shoddy liquid solvent extraction methods, supercritical CO2 extraction considerably reduces the risk of contaminants entering the finished product – which is crucial for maintaining purity in our CBD products.

Cryoethanol extraction

Employing a high quality, high efficiency liquid solution of cryoethanol is another option we have of extracting CBD oil from hemp. As far as liquid extraction goes, experts deem cryoethanol the safest because, unlike cheaper solvents like butane, it evaporates easily and therefore poses little risk to human health. Cryoethanol is also a natural by-product of plants, and so is an organic alternative to other industrial extraction techniques that use artificial chemicals. Finally, as a highly efficient solvent, cryoethanol produces a full-spectrum extract, which maximizes potency.

To achieve maximal yield, it is necessary to use expertly designed machinery, and to carefully manage the extraction process – taking especially careful note of temperature, which is how the cannabinoids remain stable. That’s why, like all the equipment we own, we use state-of-the-art technology for the cryoethanol extraction process.

During the extraction, a liquid cryoethanol solution is run through the hemp material, collecting as many cannabinoids as possible. When the extraction is done using professional machinery and sophisticated processing techniques, the result is a CBD oil with a nice amber coloration and a less bitter taste – two markers of purity in product.

We use a combination of supercritical CO2 and cryoethanol extraction – the two best extraction techniques in the industry – to ensure the widest variety of CBD oils possible. Both methods have their own benefits, offering distinct flavors, aromas, and therapeutic effects. By using both extraction methods, we’re able to offer CBD products with a broader spectrum of benefits, guaranteeing that we have something for consumers with different kinds of health and wellness needs.
